Event Details

Arrival time at Brisley Village Hall is 9am to 9.15am. We head off for the walk at 9.30am. For your information I took the walk yesterday and it took around 52 minutes with around 6,500 steps.

The walk itself heads out of Brisley village along the main road passing the church on your right, then turning left onto Woods Lane heading onto the common into an area of lovely countryside. We will be walking across fields and so walking boots or wellies are recommended as the fields will be muddy. It is also worth mentioning that there are a couple of field styles to undertake during the walk. These are a little slippery so please be careful. From the fields there is a path access back into Brisley village, constituting a walk along the main village high street, School Road. At the end of the School Road we walk back up to the church, turning left opposite the church along the path that leads back to the village hall where we arrive back at the start. We arrive at the church, hopefully at around 10.30, where I have arranged with the churchwarden for him to give a brief talk about the church’s history.

Refreshments are available after the walk where we are booked into The Old Dairy, Stanfield for breakfast. Arrival time at the cafe is 11am. There is a very short (five minute) drive to the cafe.

The numbers at the cafe are limited to 20 persons. Places on the walk and at the cafe are therefore allocated on a first come first serve basis, therefore please be quick with your responses if you would like to come along.

Please note that well behaved dogs are allowed in the cafe.

There’s no need to sign up for the walk but we do need breakfast orders in advance. Please order below.
